Space Grant National Eclipse Ballooning Project

Three Kentucky schools will participate in the national Space Grant Eclipse Ballooning Project in partnership with NASA.  Teams from the University of Kentucky, Bluegrass Community and Technical College, and Hopkinsville Community College have each been launching payloads to an approximate altitude of 100,000 ft in preparation for the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse.  In addition to these Kentucky teams, teams from three other states will launch balloon payloads from Kentucky during the eclipse.  Learn more about the projects and the eclipse itself:
